Recently, I had the opportunity to test drive a battery-powered weed whacker and blower on my property. Having used a battery-powered blower in the past that was cordless, I was very skeptical about using this one because my experience was not good. Underpowered and short lasting, I always was frustrated and went back to using a gas powered blower instead.
But once I tried the ENHULK Leaf Blower and the ENHULK String Trimmer, I was hooked. Tired of mixing two-cycle gas and oil, gas equipment spews fumes and is noisy. In fact, some areas of the country now ban the use of gas powered equipment. The cordless equipment I trialed wasn’t without noise, but was quite a bit quieter and lasted much longer than I had ever imagined. Working in the landscape business, I need reliable and sturdy equipment that is eco-friendly but with gas-like power. Some of my customers are asking that I use gasless equipment to fit in with their sustainable and native garden landscapes. Taking care of my own two acre property, I wanted something efficient and with lasting power.

Weed whacking is one of my most hated jobs. Noisy, awkward to use, and heavy, string trimmers are a necessary evil for a manicured looking garden.
Using the weed whacker, I was struck by how light it weighed compared to similar gas powered ones. The shaft which is made out of carbon fiber reduces the weight of the string trimmer greatly. I struggle to weed whack for any length of time because of the load for my small frame. Having a similar LED display for the battery and mode you are working in as the blower has, the 16″ cutting path was more than enough for my edging and cutting down some brush. Three cutting modes are available and an easy to use variable speed control. The battery capacity was easily as good as the blower and it was a pleasure to use.

I used the weed whacker for edging my gardens and also for whacking down some thin suckers that were popping up in the garden which were tougher than grass but cut through them with ease. The variable speed that is available allows you to control your RPMs for various grass and weed thicknesses, so you can extend the working time. Both of these pieces of equipment will be traveling with me to different job sites. The fold up shaft makes the string trimmer portable and easy to store and transport.
Remember when you use a string trimmer, to wear protective gear – long pants and eye protection as the trimmer can throw up bits of debris.
Having used both backpack and hand-held gas-powered blowers, I was ‘blown’ away with the variable speed control, and lighter weight of this blower – high power in a small package. The variable speed control will allow you to use the blower for 120 minutes on low, 20 minutes on high, and 15 mins on turbo, according to the instructions that came with it. ENHULK claims up to 930 CFM air volume in turbo mode, almost twice the CFM of my comparable gas-powered hand-held blower.
No starter cord to pull and no frustration when the blower won’t start because of flooding the engine or trying to start an engine that hasn’t been used in a year, this one is a keeper for me. A turbo function on the blower creates just as much power as my hand-held gas blower and I ran it for 30 minutes on various speeds and it still was going strong. I really like the cruise control feature, which is operated with a push of a button to reach the speed that you want to use.
Both pieces of equipment were a snap to put together for me – a tech challenged person – and the 58V lithium ion battery powered up quickly in the provided charger in about 30 minutes. The blowing nozzles come in various sizes to increase the air volume and velocity and the width of the area that you are blowing. An easy to read LED control panel displays what mode you are working in and the state of the battery, in a simple display, so you can monitor the battery capacity. I like simple and it checked all the boxes for me.

Blowing some leaves out a garden bed was a snap and I used it for clearing off a patio and pathway of blown debris which it easily accomplished. I have used it for short jobs for almost a week and the battery is still going strong.
Both pieces of equipment have a 4 year warranty and a 2 year battery warranty. Going forward after using these off and on for over a week, I will be using both pieces of equipment at my home and on different landscape jobs.

Thank you very much for these reviews – I also had tried cordless in the past and was very disappointed. But would be interested in trying again.
How easy is it to load the string in the trimmer?
Very easy, you line up the holes and push the string through. It takes moments!
Thank you!
Good to know it works so well. Thanks for the information and the great review. đŸ™‚
Thanks for the information! We have a blower that works pretty well, but I forget the brand. It’s important for these tools to be reliable.
I’m not familiar with this brand so thanks for sharing. I have Craftsman battery tools, and they work very well too. I also have a Ryobi battery lawn mower that I really like. Please don’t drive by my house when I’m working outside because I’d be in an old t-shirt, very old jeans, and hiking boots. đŸ™‚
I enjoyed reading your experience with the ENHULK Leaf Blower and String Trimmer! It’s great to hear how these battery-powered tools have changed your perception of cordless equipment. I completely agree with you about the convenience and eco-friendly benefits of using gasless tools like these. The lighter weight and ergonomic design seem like significant advantages, especially for someone working in the landscape business or maintaining a sizeable property like yours. //James @ weple.org
