Who says fencing is practical and boring? Impressed by fencing that surrounded a property in Pittsburgh done by Walpole fencing, I changed my mind forever about the power of fences.
The garden was quite stunning, but I probably would have passed it by with a few admiring glances, except for the fencing. The half-moon arbor with the matching gate and lighting fixture was the perfect welcoming entrance.
The detailing of the fencing made me stop in my tracks and whip out my camera to take lots of snaps before moving on. Now, I think of fencing as a design feature, not just a way to keep a boundary between neighbors.
Either a strong design element or something that disappears into the background, fencing is important when designing a garden. In this case, the Walpole fencing makes a strong design statement.
The use of the off-white fencing with the stone is a great marriage of two compatible materials that makes both a functional and decorative barrier. Flowers and vines growing through the fence adds to the charm. Made out of cellular PVC, the fence never needs painting-worth the extra money!
What a lovely backdrop for a beautiful garden, Claire! There are so many stylish options in PVC. I do love my old-fashioned white picket fence around my herb garden. I often spend time painting it in October, to keep it protected from our deep Winter snows! ♡

I call that garden therapy!
What a grand and beautiful fence that is. Not just a blockade, but a beautiful way to sculpt the yard. Thank you.
